In the course of art history, women have been widely painted and idolised, mainly by male painters. Women behind the canvas, however, are little represented. This is partly due to their late entrance into art academies and stigmatisation. For this reason, it is important to show how there has been an evolution in the representation of women and women as actors in the art world. This exhibition therefore focuses on the aspect of representation and evolution of view and perspective.
The selection of works consists of both old works and works of contemporary artists. In addition, there is an emphasis on both Western, as well as Eastern cultures.
