ANDY WARHOL - UNIQUE COLLAGES
Silkscreen and collage as an artistic signature
Andy Warhol is globally renowned for his repetition of iconic images. From Marilyn Monroe to Campbell’s Soup, his art at first glance appears to celebrate mass production and mechanical reproduction. However, this exhibition reveals a different side of his work—a Warhol who transcends standard silkscreen printing and imbues each piece with a unique character.
The works on view here belong to a special part of his oeuvre: silkscreens enriched with collage and manual interventions. Unlike his purely printed series, these artworks are not exact replicas but vary in color, composition, and texture. Warhol experimented with materials, adding layers and paper elements to give each image its own distinct identity.
