Karina Beumer

Karina Beumer’s interactive artistic practice is brought to life by something or someone else. This results in videos, installations, and publications that emerge from observational drawings and improvised performances. Beumer explores a surreal relationship between the inner workings of the head (thoughts, miscommunication) and the physical world (language, social structures, and networks). In a dream-like universe, she connects existential questions with banal fantasies, using strategies from existing structures such as the corporate world, blockbuster films, and live-action role-play.
