For the final weekend of the current exhibitions, Gallery Sofie van de Velde invites you to a special moment within the gallery where the artists themselves will offer personal insights into their work.
Pieter Jennes will present his fourth solo exhibition, Huisje, Tuintje…, drawing inspiration from the familiar expression that encompasses all aspects of (co)habitation: a home, a garden, a pet. His works explore the nuances of domestic life with warmth, humor, and subtle reflection.
Leon Vranken will guide visitors through his work, sharing how his works stem from everyday materials and encounters, objects and constellations discovered on the street or in daily life. In his studio, these elements are transformed, doubled, or shifted, creating new logic and a distinct presence.
Meanwhile, in our Project Space, Gommaar Gilliams will immerse visitors in his world through a presentation of his latest works, now on view at the gallery. These pieces, previously part of his solo exhibition Lightly, lightly at the Martkhallen in Herk-de-Stad, continue Gilliams’ exploration of painting as a poetic language, weaving together myth, symbolism, and layered abstraction.
