Felix De Clercq will publish his second book with Gallery Sofie Van de Velde. It offers a curated overview of his gouache works on paper, revealing the full breadth of his artistic vocabulary. From intimate portraits to quiet city scenes (a backdoor in an alley, bicycles leaning against a fence) and still lifes that capture the poetry of the everyday (a coffeepot, a crumpled shirt, an empty desk) the book reflects the diversity and coherence of his visual language.
Accompanying texts are written by screenwriter Angelo Tijssens and actress Line Pillet, each offering their own perspective on the emotional undercurrents in Felix’s work.
Tied to this publication, but not solely focused on it, Felix will be joined by Angelo Tijssens for a talk at KMSKA Laat on 18 September.
